Jurassic Dreams collaborates in the study of a new species of Small Sized Theropod ("Raptor")

After several intriguing months, Jurassic Dreams show you the results of the preparation and the scanning of an unpublished fragment of the left hemimandible of a new "small sized" theropod dinosaur ("raptor") species within the Dromaeosauridae - Abelisauridae family.

It comes from the Upper Cretaceous, Cenomanian Stage of the North West Africa outcrops.

It is an incredible discovery, because the specimen also has some characteristics shared with crocodiles. Right now it is under study in the United States by one of my expert friends and we hope to publish it for the next months with the definitive results and the name of this new species of raptor.

We still can not give you the concrete details of what American institution will be donated to. It is still under study.

I would like to thank my great friend Mike Minotti for all his work in preparing and scanning the specimen.
