Description

Here we present an extremely rare eggshells fragments set from an unidentified dinosaur coming from the upper Jurassic of the famous Morrison geological formation. Extremely rare to find nowadays. They come from a well documented site called "The Young Locality" in Delta County, Colorado (USA). The exact ID is unknown but they are either ornithopod or a small theropod according to the last published papers. A rarity worthy of the most discerning collections.

The "Young Locality" in Delta County, Colorado, is a significant fossil site within the Morrison Formation known for abundant dinosaur eggshells, possibly from a nesting ground. These eggshell fragments are often identified as belonging to small theropods or ornithopods, rather than large sauropods. This locality is one of several in the Morrison Formation that have yielded eggshell fossils.

Location: The Young Locality is in Delta County, Colorado.

Formation: The fossils are found in the Late Jurassic Morrison Formation, a sequence of sedimentary rock famous for dinosaur fossils in the western United States.

Significance: This site is notable for the large quantity of fossilized eggshells, suggesting it may have been a dinosaur nesting area.

Dinosaur type: The eggshells are not from sauropods; they are believed to be from smaller theropods or ornithopods.
